AWS Cloud Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) London (Hybrid) 12-Month Contract £662/day (Umbrella) SC Clearance Required Inside IR35 About the Role We’re looking for experienced AWS Cloud Engineers / Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to join a high-impact programme delivering secure, scalable cloud platforms. This role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering and reliability, focusing on building resilient systems, improving automation, and ensuring production environments run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and operating modern cloud infrastructure while driving DevOps best practices across teams. What You’ll Be Doing Designing, building, and supporting scalable AWS infrastructure (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon EKS) Managing and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI Implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability with Amazon CloudWatch and Grafana Automating infrastructure, deployments, and operational processes Managing live environments and ensuring high availability and performance Troubleshooting incidents and resolving complex production issues Collaborating with engineering teams to improve system reliability and delivery speed Key Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, networking, and container platforms like Amazon EKS Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) Proven ability to monitor and troubleshoot systems using Amazon CloudWatch and/or Grafana Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, routing, firewalls) Experience working in live production environments Solid scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash) Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability Desirable Experience Kubernetes and container orchestration (e.g., Amazon EKS) Experience with artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory Knowledge of network security tools (WAF, IDS/IPS, e.g., Suricata) Experience with AWS Landing Zones and multi-account environments Additional Information Candidates must be eligible for SC Security Clearance This is a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment requiring strong ownership and initiative Interview process: Technical interview via Microsoft Teams

About the Role

We’re looking for experienced AWS Cloud Engineers / Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to join a high-impact programme delivering secure, scalable cloud platforms.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering and reliability, focusing on building resilient systems, improving automation, and ensuring production environments run smoothly and efficiently.

You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and operating modern cloud infrastructure while driving DevOps best practices across teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing, building, and supporting scalable AWS infrastructure (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon EKS)

Managing and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI

Implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability with Amazon CloudWatch and Grafana

Automating infrastructure, deployments, and operational processes

Managing live environments and ensuring high availability and performance

Troubleshooting incidents and resolving complex production issues

Collaborating with engineering teams to improve system reliability and delivery speed

Key Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, networking, and container platforms like Amazon EKS

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI)

Proven ability to monitor and troubleshoot systems using Amazon CloudWatch and/or Grafana

Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, routing, firewalls)

Experience working in live production environments

Solid scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash)

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability

Desirable Experience

Kubernetes and container orchestration (e.g., Amazon EKS)

Knowledge of network security tools (WAF, IDS/IPS, e.g., Suricata)

Experience with AWS Landing Zones and multi-account environments

Additional Information
