## JOB INFORMATION Performs service to students and the community regarding Financial Aid and eligibility of funds, assists with federal and state aid applications as well as providing assistance over the phone or in person, collaborates with college staff and external agencies to provide instructions and verification of aid eligibility, may perform specific programmatic functions/processes. Has knowledge of a wide variety of student services, campus programs, and academic requirements, will perform Financial Aid outreach services, resolves student issues with the receipt or disbursement of financial aid or other funds and applicable eligibility. Any applicants who earned academic credentials from outside of the United States and wish to use those credits for consideration must also upload an evaluation of college credit earned at the non-U.S. institution. ## DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *Student Services FunctionsProvides information and responds to current and prospective financial aid applicants to advise and provide support regarding state and federal financial aid opportunities, processing, eligibility requirements and qualifications, and available resources.Collaborates with other departments, such as Business Services and Enrollment/Student Services, to resolve issues and provide accurate financial aid information to prospective and enrolled students*Financial Aid Processing FunctionsAssigned specific processes or tasks to review and determine appropriate resolving over awards and external/internal resources, generate student communications: FAFSA/ORSAA eligibility and verification/awards; determine Loan level eligibility each term, specific outcome of appeals (Maximum timeframe, Professional Judgment, and Request for Changes, etc.)Verifies completeness and accuracy of student information, confirms student’s income and living situations; correlates information for federal tax returns, and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); Perform federal need analysis, and verify the accuracy of information submitted on the FAFSAReviews and processes appeals from students who fail to meet satisfactory academic progress for students receiving Financial Aid Benefits; notifies students of result of appealUses knowledge of, and resources/tools (public website, degree works, etc) to review and determine appropriate outcomes for maximum timeframe appeals.Processes Professional Judgment appeal requests to determine if student/parents qualify for an adjustment in eligibility. Exercises Professional Judgment by making adjustments to data elements from appropriate documentation that are appropriate to each student’s situation. Processes financial aid files according to Federal, State, and institutional policiesDocuments communication regarding the student in the student’s (electronic) fileMaintains records that comply with state and federal law*Technical FunctionsUses reports and other technologies to determine receipt of eligible financial aidResearch of issues with student or accounting records in Banner, works with staff and management to resolve discrepanciesUse of multiple communication methods and tools, such as email, phone, etcUses Degree Works and/or other evaluative methods for financial aid processing and student successUses Banner Student Information System and Student Forms/Campus Logic to complete daily work, including assisting other departments and areas of the collegeUse and knowledge of federal & state systems (COD, NSLDS, FAA Access, OSAC portal, etc) in the processing of federal and state aid programs*Depar
