JOB ADVERT: SECURITY OFFICER Location: Western Cape Employment Type: Permanent Working Hours: Full‑time (Shift work) Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and experienced Security Officer to join our team in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of company premises, assets, employees, and visitors. This role requires professionalism, vigilance, and the ability to respond effectively to security‑related situations. Key Duties and Responsibilities Conduct regular patrols of company premises to maintain a secure environmentMonitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systemsPerform access control duties, including vehicle and body searches where requiredRespond promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, and incidentsEnforce company security policies, procedures, and protocolsIdentify, investigate, and report suspicious activities, security breaches, or incidentsCompile accurate and detailed incident and occurrence reportsProvide assistance and guidance to employees and visitorsLiaise with management, emergency services, or law enforcement when necessary Minimum Requirements PSIRA Grade A certificationPSIRA registered and in good standingValid Firearm Competency CertificateMust have own firearmMatric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualificationClear criminal record (screening will be conducted)Computer literate (basic operational proficiency required)Good communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressurePhysically fit and able to stand and walk for extended periods Experience Previous experience in a security or guarding role will be an advantageProven background in:Access controlVehicle and body searchesIncident report writing Preferred Qualifications Valid First Aid / CPR certificationAdditional security‑related training or certifications Working Conditions Full‑time position with shift work, including nights, weekends, and public holidaysExposure to various weather conditionsPotential exposure to physically demanding or confrontational situations
