Our client in the Limpopo region is looking for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to manage financial transactions and ensure regulatory compliance in Polokwane. Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Receivable Manage accounts receivable by tracking outstanding invoices and following up on overdue payments. Process and reconcile accounts payable invoices, ensuring timely payments to suppliers while maximising early settlement discounts. Review and approve creditor reconciliations prepared by junior staff, resolving discrepancies and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Financial Reporting & Management Accounts Prepare monthly management accounts including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for review by senior management. Monitor operational expenditure against approved budgets, investigate significant variances, and report findings to the finance manager. Perform detailed bank reconciliations across multiple accounts on a daily and monthly basis to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. Statutory Compliance & Tax Assist with preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits. Prepare and submit VAT returns, PAYE returns, and other statutory filings within prescribed deadlines to ensure full tax compliance. Requirements Proven work experience as an Accountant Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP Hands-on experience with accounting software like Sage or Pastel Advanced MS Excel skills Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills Qualifications B.Com Degree in Accounting or Finance. SAICA/SAIPA registration preferred.
