EGA is an integrated aluminium producer, with operations on four continents from bauxite mining to the production of cast primary aluminium and recycling. EGA operates aluminium smelters in Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates, an alumina refinery in Al Taweelah, a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea, a speciality foundry in high strength recycled aluminium in Germany, and a recycling plant in the United States. JOB PURPOSE:

To monitor and assist in the effective implementation of the localised EGA’s corporate Security control/protection strategic plans, policies and programs across the assigned plant operations in order to ensure adherence with world class Security control/protection practices in accord with international / local legislation and standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Policies, Processes & Procedures

 Implements approved departmental, policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all areas of the Security department so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are adhered to while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner

Day-to-Day Operations

 Supervises the implementation of the day-to-day operations assigned for the Security department to ensure they comply with established policies, processes and procedures

 Investigation & Reporting

 Supervises the effective implementation of the incident investigation process and undertakes as necessary investigations and reporting of Security incidents (where required, in conjunction with appropriate agencies) in a timely and correct manner and make recommendations as a result of the outcome of such incidents. Training & Embedment

 Plan, organise and conduct a wide range of Security training courses to all levels within the organisation to promote Security awareness and reduce the number and severity of Security incidents.

Maintenance, Testing & Inspection

 Control and coordinate all maintenance and testing of Security protection systems throughout the plant to ensure their operational readiness.

 Develop and initiate routine evaluations of the workplace, as required advising on all aspects of Security precautions to identify any areas of non-conformance with local regulatory requirements and internationally accepted standards and recommend solutions to ensure compliance.

 Be familiar with the local regulatory requirements and International Standards

Safety, Quality & Environment

 Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment People Management

 Supervises the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within the Security department is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with company policies/ procedures and set individual targets.

 Thinking within clearly defined policies, standards and specific objectives.

Decision Making:

 Direction of work is subject to practices and procedures, output is managed. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/equivalent or have at least 10 years of relevant experience.

 Preferably an accreditation or membership to a recognised association

Minimum Experience:  4 - 6 years relevant experience in EHSFS in a similar manufacturing industry including at least 2 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities

Skills:  Preferably bilingual (Arabic and English)

 Certified Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO)

 Knowledgeable in ISPS Code

 Knowledgeable in Physical Information Security

 Knowledgeable in Electronic Security Access Control System, CCTV Security System, burglar alarm system, intrusion detection system & fire system

 Experience in administering a department preferably working with a multi-national team.

 Proficiency in SAP applications

 Proficiency in computer
