Responsibilities Monitor CCTV camera feeds in real time from a control room, identifying and responding to any unusual or suspicious activity. Conduct regular patrols of the assigned premises on foot or by vehicle, checking for security breaches, hazards, and suspicious activity. Assist with emergency procedures including fire evacuations, medical emergencies, and crisis situations according to established protocols. Respond promptly to alarm activations, investigate the cause, and take appropriate action including escalation to armed response or law enforcement. Control access to buildings and sites by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining an accurate access register. Write detailed and accurate incident reports describing security events, observations, and actions taken for management review. Requirements A valid driver's licence is required for armed response and patrol positions. The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure in emergency or high-stress situations. Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods, conduct foot patrols, and respond quickly to incidents. A clear criminal record is mandatory and subject to regular review as per PSIRA requirements. Grade 12 certificate is preferred; Grade 10 may be acceptable for certain entry-level positions.
