FILINVEST COMPANY: Crimson Filinvest City Manila POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Security Manager, and in alignment with the policies, procedures, and standards of Crimson Filinvest City Manila, the Senior Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests, employees, and property. This role supervises security operations during assigned shifts, responds to incidents, conducts investigations, and supports the Security Manager in enforcing hotel policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols. The position also plays a key role in training and mentoring junior security personnel. SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Security and Safety Expertise Surveillance and Patrol: Skilled in monitoring CCTV, conducting routine patrols, and identifying security threats. Maintain frequent supervision of hotel critical areas through CCTV surveillance and patrolling. Deploy manpower according to risk and activity levels Immediate response to abnormalities, suspicious situations and disorder Emergency Response: Capable of acting swiftly and effectively during fire alarms, medical emergencies, evacuations, or disturbances. Fully familiarize oneself with all emergency contingency plans, policy & procedure, manuals etc. Fully understand the role of the Incident Response Team (IRT) and the IRT Team Leader and CMT. Participate in all emergency drills (planned and unplanned) as directed by the SSM. Guide and coach all Officers and new recruits in the principles of all emergency contingency plans. Ensure that all Officers and new recruits are familiar with all emergency systems (e.g. Fire Detection and Alarm systems) and equipment. Routine Hotel patrols must include Fire and Life safety: e.g. removal of obstructions from fire staircases and fire exits; fire doors closed etc Incident Investigation: Experienced in handling, documenting, and reporting incidents such as thefts, accidents, or unauthorized access. Ensure that the Daily Activity Report is correctly and accurately completed throughout the shift and submit to SSM for checking by the following morning. Generate detailed / concise reports of routine occurrences. Ensure that all documentation, reports etc are accurately filed according to SSM instructions. Ensure immediate scene protection of any incident/accident. Identify victim(s) witnesses immediately. Administer first aid / offer victim support. Protect any evidence found at the scene. Take immediate photographic evidence. Obtain full names, staff numbers, and telephone numbers etc of all involved parties. Circulate any relevant information by radio.Ensure full and accurate information passed to the SSM in order to generate a full incident report. Crisis Handling: Makes quick, effective decisions in emergencies or high-pressure situations. Conflict Resolution: De-escalates tense situations calmly and respectfully. Report all criminal allegations and incidents immediately to the SSM. Instant deployment of resources to protect any identified crime scene. Identify victim/witnesses and offer reassurance / first aid. Obtain full particulars. Circulate description of suspect(s) Inform the SSM of any intelligence/information received relating to crime in or near the Hotel. Judgment: Exercises sound judgment in protecting guests, staff, and hotel property. 2. Operational Excellence Vigilance: Constantly aware of surroundings and potential security breaches. Accurate Monitoring: Able to detect suspicious behavior or unusual activity. Record Keeping: Maintains thorough and precise security documentation. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with local laws, fire codes, and occupational safety standards. Procedural Compliance: Ensures all staff and guests comply with hotel safety and access control policies. Access controls (e.g. registration and permit system) Frequent foot patrolling of all Hotel areas ensuring security staff maintain crime awareness at all times Gate Pass and Asset Disposal controls Visitor / contractor / casual staff bag searches Staff locker searches (with HRD) Hotel Keys - release, receive and key copying functions following strictly to Policy and Procedures Electronic Key system Panic / hold up alarms Guard tour system Lift operation and alarm Door alarms (Fire Exit doors) Fire Detection Alarm System and equipment CCTV system (NVR, cameras, lenses, cables etc) Radio communication; Flashlights Risk Management: Identifies potential hazards and suggests improvements to reduce risk. Monitor the Hotel environment throughout the shift and identify any security and / or safety risks that become apparent. Report all risks to the SSM. Ensure that all critical areas are adequately managed according to SSM instructions throughout the shift. Clear Reporting: Writes detailed, accurate incident reports and daily logs. Guest Interaction: Handles guest concerns or disturbances discreetly and professionally. Deploy resources in line with SSM developed strategy. Sweep critical Hotel areas and assigned VIP guest floor prior to VIP event / visit in order to identify irregularities; suspicious situations etc. Carry out assigned tasks strictly according to strategy. Immediately report any irregularities; signs of disorder etc. to the SSM. Ensure the unimpeded and safe movement of VIP guests into Internal Coordination: Communicates effectively with hotel departments, contractors, and emergency services. Chair pre-shift briefings, ensuring that all security officers are fully updated with relevant information. 3. Other duties Adheres to the provisions outlined in the Employee Handbook, Disciplinary Code, and Rules and Regulations. Adheres to the set procedures for attendance and timekeeping. Attends team meetings as required by his/her manager. Comply with Lost and Found procedures at all times. Adheres to emergency procedures prescribed by the company. Adheres to specified hygiene and personal appearance standards of the company. Attends scheduled training and participates in company-initiated employee activities. Complies with the Companys Environmental Policy and established rules and guidelines. Performs such other functions as may be delegated by management from time to time.
