Description:The Security Officer is responsible for protecting and safeguarding all Park DuValle Community Health Center facilities while ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive healing environment for patients, visitors, and employees. This position requires prompt and effective response to emergencies and service requests, as well as consistent demonstration of professionalism, sound judgment, and courteous conduct at all times. Responsibilities: Patrol assigned areas to deter, detect, and respond to suspicious or unlawful activityMonitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access points to ensure property and personnel safetyControl access to facilities by checking identification and authorizing entry when requiredRespond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms according to established proceduresConduct routine safety checks and report hazards, violations, or maintenance issuesWrite clear, accurate, and timely incident and activity reportsAssist with basic facility and grounds-keeping tasks to support overall site upkeep & safetyEnforce company policies, rules, and regulations in a fair and professional mannerAssist employees, visitors, and customers as needed while maintaining security standardsCoordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel when necessaryParticipate in training programs and drills to maintain readiness and compliancePerform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities critical to this role: Knowledge of security procedures, patrol techniques, and access control systemsUnderstanding of emergency response protocols, including fire, medical, and evacuation proceduresFamiliarity with surveillance systems (CCTV), alarm monitoring, and incident reportingKnowledge of local laws, regulations, and company policies related to safety and securityAwareness of threat identification, risk assessment, and loss prevention practicesUnderstanding of crowd control and conflict de-escalation principlesKnowledge of workplace safety standards and hazard prevention Strong observation and situational awareness skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressureEffective conflict resolution and de-escalation abilitiesStrong attention to detail and accurate report writing skillsPhysical stamina and ability to stand, patrol, or respond quickly as requiredCustomer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanorAbility to follow procedures while exercising good judgmentTeamwork and collaboration with staff, law enforcement, and emergency respondersTime management and reliability Requirements:Qualifications High school diploma or GEDCurrent CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within a designated timeframeAbility to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful or emergency situationsStrong communication, observation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work flexible schedules, evenings, weekends, and holidays (as needed)Must be able to travel to any PDCHC location (as needed)ExperienceMinimum of one (1) year of security, law enforcement, or related experience in a healthcare environmentExperience responding to emergencies and interacting with diverse populations
