Location: Various Sites in the Victoria area Position Status: Part-Time, Full-Time and Casual Available Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts Wage: $20.00/hr - $21.53/hr Reports to: Site Supervisor/ Client Service Manager Key Responsibilities: Access Control: Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter. Verify identification and issue temporary passes as needed. Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, to detect and deter any suspicious activity or potential security threats. Surveillance Monitoring: Operate and monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to identify and respond to any security breaches. Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to resolve the situation and minimize risk. This includes coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as required. Report Writing: Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other security documentation as needed. Maintain clear communication with supervisors and other security personnel. Customer Service: Provide assistance and guidance to visitors and employees, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining security standards. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Must possess a valid BC Security Workers License or be willing to obtain it. Must be able to obtain a Reliability Clearance and be minimum 19 years of age. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. Proficiency in using security technology (e.g., CCTV, access control systems). Physical fitness and ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods. Working Conditions: Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required. Must be able to work in various weather conditions if patrols involve outdoor areas. The position requires standing or walking for extended periods.
