Security personnel play a key role in ensuring safety, providing customer assistance, monitoring activities, and responding to incidents. Position: Security Guard Site: Mapleview Mall Hours: Thursday, Friday, Sat & Sun (1400-2200) Monday (1000-1800) Payrate: $20.91/hr. Averaging Agreement: Overtime is AA after 88 hours Posting Date: May 25, 2026 Internal Closing Date: May 29, 2026 External Closing Date: June 10, 2026 Job Description: Provide consistent, high-quality customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors. Act as a visible security presence, deterring crime and promoting a safe, welcoming environment. Enforce property rules, standards, and regulations professionally and fairly. Conduct regular patrols and respond promptly to incidents or emergencies. Deliver first aid, CPR, and AED support until medical help arrives. Monitor CCTV and security systems; maintain effective access control. Manage trespassers and unauthorized individuals in accordance with the Trespass to Property Act. De-escalate crises and ensure calm, safe resolution of situations. Maintain accurate memo books and incident reports Assist with Fire & Life Safety duties, inspections, and safety initiatives. Support crowd, line, and access management during events or peak periods. Investigate incidents, rule violations, and security concerns. Work collaboratively with management and operations teams. Apply sound judgment when interacting with the public. Follow all emergency procedures and standard operating guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of prior security experience. Valid Ontario Security Guard License. Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification. Must hold a valid G-Class driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience and able to provide clean driver’s abstract/record covering the past 3 years. Must be comfortable with a dashboard camera recording device installed and operating in the company vehicle at all times. Legally authorized to work full-time in Canada. Able and willing to stand, walk, and patrol (on foot or by vehicle) for extended periods. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both indoors and outdoors. Comfortable working in fast paced environments. Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, able to work effectively in a team setting. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
