Overview Job Skills / Requirements Position: Security Guard Site: 16 York Street (Maple Leaf Square) Status: Full Time Hours: Continental Nights (2000-0800) Overtime: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours Job Duties: Ensuring compliance with the standards, rules, and regulations at the PropertyBe proactive in helping everyone have an outstanding customer experience at the PropertyPerform highly visible patrols of assigned patrol areas/zones (by foot), and positively engage with tenants, guests, visitors, and employees on an ongoing basisApproach guests or visitors at directory boards, within building lobbies, and elsewhere to offer directions or general assistance;Work closely with the Manager’s other departments at the Property, especially the guest services and tenant services departments, to provide customer service support to tenants, guests, visitors, and employees;Maintain strong knowledge of activities and special events at the Property and assist visitors and guests during their visit to the Property;Assist visitors, guests, and tenants’ employees with specific problems, such as safety concerns, requests for directions, escorts, assistance with packages, misplaced vehicles, etc.;Enforce the rules and regulations at the Property in a fair and responsible mannerReport and follow up on hazards and/or deficiencies identified during dutyObserve and report criminal activity to the police and assist the police upon their arrival and during their attendance at the PropertyAssist tenants/merchants respond to crimes that have occurred at the Property and ensure appropriate law enforcement authorities are summonedRemain prepared to respond to crime, disturbances, and emergencies as per training and procedureNormal physical activity characterized by extended periods of walking and standing, periodic sitting, kneeling, bending, and use of basic motor skillsShut off excess lighting where suitable to assist in the reduction of power consumptionRequirements & Qualifications: Valid Ontario Security Guard License Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level - C certificationMinimum 1 year of experience working in Security or equivalent preferred Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations requiredEffective written and verbal communication skillsLegally authorized to work in CanadaMust be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionPlease be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability Why choose Paladin?
