IntroductionOur client in Durban,is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies Manage month-end and year-end closing processes Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts Prepare and submit tax returns, VAT reports, and other statutory filings Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities Monitor financial performance and identify variances or discrepancies Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations Maintain proper financial records and documentation for audit purposes Improve and streamline accounting processes and controls Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions Desired Experience & Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Professional certification (e.g., SAICA articles, CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA) is preferred Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., IFRS) Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Solid understanding of tax regulations, including VAT High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Excellent organizational and time management skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Payroll (advantage) Package & Remuneration R25 000- R30 000 Provident fund after 1 year of permanent employment Interested?

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
