Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Professional Goods Van Driver to join their dynamic logistics team in **George, Western Cape, ZA**. This is a crucial role responsible for the timely and safe transportation of goods across various designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess an impeccable driving record, a strong understanding of road safety regulations, and a commitment to customer service. You will be operating a modern fleet of vans, ensuring that all cargo is handled with the utmost care from pickup to delivery. This role requires punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work independently while maintaining constant communication with the dispatch team. Responsibilities: Safely operate a goods van in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies. Plan and execute daily delivery schedules efficiently. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents. Provide excellent customer service to clients at delivery points. Adhere to strict delivery timelines. Represent the company professionally at all times. Assist with inventory management and stocktaking as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve any logistical challenges that may arise during transit. Qualifications: Valid Professional Driver's Permit (PDP) with a clean driving record. Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience. Proven experience in goods transportation and logistics. Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the Western Cape. Excellent physical condition to handle loading and unloading of goods. Ability to read and understand delivery manifests and route plans. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a responsible and reliable individual with a strong work ethic. Willingness to undergo background checks and regular drug/alcohol screening. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems.
